‘life has no fixed rules’

What is keeping you busy these daysIJ

I’ve been shooting in Nasik for Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Bullet Raja, with Saif Ali Khan and Sonakshi Sinha. It’s a story of two friends and a misunderstanding that crops up. This is based on a true incident. I can’t reveal much about the movie but like Tigmanshu’s previous films, Bullet Raja is also going to be full of action, song and melodrama. It would be a full-on masala entertainment from the  Dhulia banner. The movie is slated to release on September 6, 2013.

You have been working with Dhulia for a very long time…

He is a great friend and mentor. I enjoy working with him on his projects. He is a professional director who gives his stars a lot of space and I respect hi for that. Dhulia comes out with something new every time in terms of character and concept. We started with Haasil and then did Charas, Sahib Biwi Gangster and Sahib Biwi Gangster Returns together. Saif and I’ve worked in Hum Tum and Eklavya but this is the first time we got to spend time together. I feel I know Saif a lot better than I did before. It was a wonderful experience working with such a talented person.

Your movie Rangeelay didn’t do well at the box office...

The opening of Rangeelay was average. My earlier films have had an opening of over 110 per cent but this one got only 75 per cent on the opening weekend.  My last film, which was released two years back, had 100 shows a day but nowadays we have 500 shows a day running across theatres.

Are you a very rigid personIJ

I have learnt to keep them flexible. There are times when the shoot stretches for long because of weather conditions or some other factor. As an actor, one has to be prepared for the worst. In this situation, one has to be very flexible and adjust with situations. In life, there are no fixed rules. You have to be flexible and give your best.

What are your upcoming projectsIJ

Because of the look I have donned to play Bullet Raja, I will not be able to do anything else. I have grown a moustache and long hair. After this project, I have Tanu Weds Manu 2 in the pipeline.
