SANGEETA YADAV

KARBONN A21

Be it the dual 2G and 3G sim facility or good audio video player, Karbonn A21 works well on both fronts. Packed with Android OS 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with 1.2 GHz processor, this smartphone functions quite smoothly but consumes a lot of battery. The phone comes with 5 MP camera with lED flash and auto focus, while the  camera works fine it could have been better. Also the activate and deactivate option to unlock the phone is quite complicated.

The Karbonn A21 handset also has various preloaded games, Gchat, gmail, google, app store, wechat, whatsapp, YouTube, news and weather updates, navigation and Yahoo messenger. With the help of nexGTV, one can watch live TV on the move. It’s PAYTM app offers online recharge of all mobiles, DTH and datacard. Though its sleek look with 4.5 inch multi-touch screen looks smart, the highly touch sensitivity works averagely.  It’s keyboard is comfortable to work on and switching from one app to another is an easy job for the multitaskers. But with the  frequent use of the smartphone be it for call, mails of gaming, the pad heats up quite a bit.

This high-end smartphone comes with an affordable pricelline of Rs12,990. It surely matches up to the high end products which are now available in affordable price range. But with the availability of other players in the market who are offering windows OS and Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS on the same price range and with almost same specs, one can pick their best.
