In a twist to Major General Raj Pal Singh’s suicide case, police sources on Saturday said that the deceased mentioned names of two female senior officers and referred to a third anonymously in his six-page suicide note.

He was not satisfied with his postings and senior officers. Singh also mentioned in the suicide note that he was allegedly being harassed by his seniors. Post allegation, the police are now recording the statement of the Major General’s family. The investigators may also approach the three officers to dig into the matter.

However, an abetment to suicide case is yet to be registered. In a related development, the Army officials have requested the Delhi Police to share the details of Singh’s suicide note with them and that they require for internal inquiry into the incident.

On Friday, victim’s wife Parneet Kaur found him hanging from a ceiling fan at their flat in Joy Apartments in Dwarka Sector-II. Preliminary investigation has revealed that Singh was recently transferred to National Cadet Core (NCC) unit in Patna and he was unhappy with his transfer. “On Friday evening, Singh had come to Delhi on leave and after reaching home, he directly went to his bedroom. After searching some documents there, he allegedly committed suicide. Police have recovered several official documents and a six-page suicide note from the room,” the officer added.

Police sources also said that in the first two pages of his suicide note, the victim mentioned the names of his wife, daughter and son. He urged them to remain careful. In next four pages, he had mentioned two female officers’ names and a third officer whose name was not written. “He stated several harassment incidents with him and also claimed that he was facing problems from his seniors,” said a source.

Rajpal Singh was currently posted as Additional Directorate General of the NCC in Bihar and Jharkhand and was scheduled to retire on August 31. Singh had come to Delhi on a vacation on Friday evening and was supposed to go back to Patna next week.

The elder son of the victim is also in the Army and is currently posted in Punjab as a captain, while his younger daughter is working with a private company in Gurgaon. Meanwhile, after medico-legal formalities and post-mortem, the body of Singh was handed over to his family members and cremated as per rituals.
