One person was killed and two others were injured when suspected militants lobbed a grenade at a tea garden in Assam’s Darrang district on Saturday evening.
Police said that the incident took place around 7 pm at Borbora tea garden under Dalgaon Police Station in the district.
“Suspected militants lobbed a grenade at the manager’s office in the garden. Three persons were injured including the manager and a supplier of the garden,” police said while adding that one of the injured breathed his last at the hospital. Police are yet to ascertain the militants behind the incident and said that an operation has been launched to nab the culprits.
