Southee over Nathan?

New Zealand's pacer Tim Southee could finally make his 2016 World T20 debut after spending valuable time in the nets on Tuesday.

The right-arm medium pacer has always been a mainstay in Kiwis team. However, due to the conditions in India, which normally favours spinners, Southee has been left out of contention and had to settle for a place in the bench for the four Super 10 matches.

However, on Tuesday he was seen training hard in the nets. With the pitch for Wednesday's game set to be a different one from the previous matches, Southee could fancy his chances in the wicket that could offer a bit more for the pacers.

Trent Boult was another bowler who spent extra time in the nets on Tuesday. The left-arm pacer is another bowler who has not featured for New Zealand so far in the World T20. He could also be in line for Wednesday's match.

So there is a possibility of any one of Southee or Boult playing on Wednesday.

Also Nathan McCullum was seen practicing hard. The 35-year-old has been a bit part player for the Kiwis in this tournament.  He played the opener against India, but was rested for the next two matches. Then, he played in the dead rubber against Bangladesh in the last game. However, he is unlikely to feature on Wednesday, with Ish Sodhi and Mitchell Santner, who are in their form of their lives, are ahead of McCullum in line for contention.

Meanwhile, the England team trained in the morning on Tuesday. They had a normal session and are expected to retain the same starting line-up that beat Sri lanka in the last game to secure their passage to the semi-final.
