HC dismisses plea to revoke suspension on Chennai Super Kings

PNS

The hope of Chennai Super Kings, which was suspended by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) from playing in the IPl to stage a comeback to the elite cricket circuit suffered a setback on Wednesday with the Madras HC dismissing team’s petition seeking quashing of BCCI order.

The First Bench of Madras High Court consisting Chief Justice SK Kaul and Justice T S Sivagnanam dismissed the petition filed by the management of the CSK and the Public Interest litigation filed by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy. “The petitions do not fall under the window prescribed by the SC and hence not maintainable,” said the Bench.

The CSK’s petition had also sought the Court to reject the report of the committee headed by former chief justice of India RM lodha Committee which probed into allegations of match fixing against the team.

The management of the CSK had claimed that the real culprit has been conveniently let off without even a fine while every single cricketer contracted with CSK and thousands of fans have been punished by suspending franchise.
