Roger Federer has fallen to No. 5 in the new ATP rankings, the first time in a decade he's been that low.

Federer's second-round loss at Wimbledon, a year after taking the title, drops him from No. 3. He was fifth in the rankings of June 23, 2003, two weeks before he won Wimbledon for the first of his record 17 major championships.

Wimbledon champion Andy Murray remains at No. 2 on Monday, behind the runner-up, Novak Djokovic.

Quarterfinalist David Ferrer rises one spot to a career-high No. 3, with Rafael Nadal fourth. Marion Bartoli, who won Wimbledon for her first Grand Slam title, moves from No. 15 to No. 7 in the WTA rankings.

Serena Williams stays at No. 1 despite her fourth-round loss at Wimbledon.

Bopanna rises to no 5

Courtesy his stupendous run at the Wimbledon, Rohan Bopanna became the highest-ranked Indian in the world on Monday as he achieved career-best rank of five in the ATP doubles charts.

Bopanna with French partner Edouard Roger-Vasselin reached the semifinals at the grass court Grand Slam, losing to eventual winners Mike and Bob Bryan. “It is an extremely proud moment for my team and myself, as this ranking is a true testament of the many years of hard work, focus and determination. Being for the first time, the highest ranked Indian makes this all that more special and is an added motivation to perform better with every passing game,” Bopanna said.

The Indian though said it difficult to say if he would like to continue with Roger-Vasselin. “It is too early to speculate, though Eduardo and I are in conversation on continuing this partnership given the great run we have had in the two weeks at Wimbledon,” he said.

Following Bopanna at number six is his regular partner for 2013 season Mahesh Bhupathi, who also lost in the quarter-finals in london with Austrian partner Julian Knowle.

leander Paes (9) was also back in the top-10 courtesy his semifinal appearance with Czech partner Radek Stepanek. left-hander Divij Sharan, who made his debut at the Grand Slams at Wimbledon via qualifying, also achieved his career-best rank of 89 after gaining three places. Divij is fourth Indian, who features in top-100. His partner Purav Raja (115) also got to his best rank

In the singles, Somdev Devvarman continued to be country's number singles player at 131, followed by Saketh Myneni (131). In the women's ranking, Sania Mirza slid to world number 19 in doubles, after a loss of four positions.
