paris considers oly bid
Paris: Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo says "extremely important steps" have been made toward a possible bid by the French capital for the 2024 Olympics. Hidalgo received the results Thursday of a feasibility study on hosting the games. The mayor says she is pleased with the financial and environmental guarantees in the study, but still needs to consult with members of the Paris city council before making a decision on whether to bid. The decision is expected in April.
delhi plays 2-2 draw
Bhubaneswar: Delhi Waveriders scored a late equaliser in their 2-2 draw with Kalinga lancers in the Hockey India league (HIl) on Thursday. lucas Vila and Vikas Sharma struck for lancers before Delhi struck back immediately through Andrew Hayward. With a minute to go, Delhi avoided two defeats in a row thanks to Talwinder Singh. lancers are bottom of the table while Delhi with 15 points are fourth.

Bengaluru: Sony Six on Thursday announced that it will broadcast the Pepsi IPl 2015 Player Auction live when some big names such as Hashim Amla and Yuvraj Singh go under the hammer here on February 16. The player auction will be broadcast live on both SONY SIX SD and HD on Monday, 9:30 am onwards.
chelsea keep 7-point lead
london: Premier league leader Chelsea left it late to beat Everton 1-0 on Wednesday and maintain its seven-point advantage over Manchester City as the champions won 4-1 at Stoke. The victory dashed City's hopes of closing the gap on Chelsea on a night when Sergio Aguero scored twice to end the second-place team's four-game winless run. Manchester United remained five points behind neighbour City but rose to third with an unconvincing 3-1 victory over Burnley. Southampton dropped to fourth after being held 0-0 by 10-man West Ham, while Crystal Palace drew 1-1 with Newcastle. West Brom climbed four points clear of the relegation zone by beating Swansea 2-0.

london: Chelsea winger Eden Hazard has signed a new 5 1/2-year contract with the English Premier league leader. The Belgium international has been one of the league's best players this season, scoring 13 goals, and was Chelsea's top scorer and player of the year last season.
