Harpreet Khatri, winner of DID Super Moms, talks to SANGEETA YADAV about her journey on the show, how she faced challenges and her future plans
How was your journey on Dance India Dance Super MomsIJ
It was a beautiful experience which I will cherish all my life. My choreographer Siddhesh and his entire team worked very hard. They became like a second family. We developed a great bonding. I’m also going to miss the judges — Govinda sir, Terrance sir and Geeta maa.
Who was your favourite judgeIJ
All the judges were very good to me but Terrance sir was very kind and inspiring. He would always encourage me by saying that for him I was the winner. That encouraged me to give my best and prove that he was correct. He was also very ice to my 21-month-old son, Dakshesh. Whenever I used to perform on the stage, Terrance sir used to take Dakshesh and make him sit on the lap so that he too could watch me dance.
What was the biggest challenge for youIJ
To keep up the tempo of the dance, we had to do extraordinary things like ropemalkhamb which I had never done. People spent years learning this dance form but I learnt it in two to three days and got standing ovation for my performance. I also had to break the tubelight on my body in one of my performances. I was very scared but I did it right at one go in the finals. In semi-final round, I had to dance on a table which was revolving at a very fast speed. All these were very dangerous for me.
Did your fear come in way of your dancingIJ
I have a fear of heights and so the rope performance really scared me. But a dance show only for moms is a great opportunity for mothers like me to relive our dreams. I used to dance before marriage but it took a backseat. My husband supported and encouraged me to give it a try.
What is the prize money that you have got and how are you going to sent thatIJ
The prize money is Rs5 lakh and I’ve not thought about what I will do with it yet. Right now, I am excited to have won. When my cheque will get encashed, then I’ll think about it.
What nextIJ
I’ll be an active dancer till I die. Govinda sir told me that I will be getting acting offers soon since I look like a heroine. I hope this comes true.
