The grand wedding affair

After a long wait, telly’s two love birds Mehek (played by Samiksha Jaiswal) and Shaurya (played by Karan Vohra) of Zee TV’s Zindagi Ki Mehak will finally tie the knot with much fanfare. From the classic shaadi tracks, huge set decorated with marigold to actors decked up in their heavy wedding attire, the makers have left no stone unturned to make it a grand affair. The entire cast and crew were in the Capital recently to shoot the wedding episode for the second time after the first wedding got called off due to a twist in the story.

Created by Saurabh Tiwari, this Delhi-based show has been the hype of the small screen with its unending plot twists. Decked up head to toe in full bridal wear and makeup, carrying a varmaala in her hand, Samiksha Jaiswal said: “The romance and the intense love-hate relationship that the couple — Mehek and Shaurya — shares is something unique and this has made the show very interesting. Mehek’s simplicity and her passion for cooking make the character relatable to the audience. She believes in the concept of being a good homemaker and that good food makes for a good life. I have never seen a show with the sole concept of cooking, and that’s the major thing that makes it standout.”

Jaiswal gives the entire credit for her growth and performance in Zindagi Ki Mehek to the writer Saurabh Tewari “I personally love the way he is. He’s a great writer and a producer and very down to earth. Being a debut TV actor, he gave me immense support and built-up my confidence. In the beginning, I was very bad in acting and but patiently I learnt everything. Even after being in the industry for so long, he taught me how to deliver lines, and look at the camera. I feel lucky that I got an opportunity to work with him,” Jaiswal says.
