‘I have never seen this passionate side of riteish’

While the first episode of Zee Comedy Show helped every Indian family unwind on their couch with some of India's top comedians making them LOL their stress away, this weekend, we will see Riteish Deshmukh make us ROFL with his hilarious antics. The Bollywood star along with wifey Genelia Deshmukh were special guests on the show, but they weren't the only guests present on the set! This weekend, Zee Comedy Show also decided to deliver a much-needed dose of laughter to the ones who need it the most — the Mumbai dabbawallas who were hit very hard during the COVID-19 pandemic.

With eleven comedians of the show — Ali Asgar, Sugandha Mishra Bhosale, Dr. Sanket Bhosale, Gaurav Dubey, Ballraaj, Siddharth Sagar, Divyansh Dwivedi, Tejasswi Prakash, Chitrashi Rawat, Aditya Narayan and Punit J Pathak performing some hilarious acts and the Laughing Buddha of the show, Farah Khan leaving them in splits with her witty reactions, the hardworking dabbawallas were seen unwinding in a #HasiOnStressGone mood! However, to make the experience even more entertaining, Riteish Deshmukh got his acting shoes on and performed two acts with Siddharth Sagar, and we have to say, everyone was holding their stomach and laughing during the shoot.

Riteish appeared to be sitting on top of an inflated Dinosaur costume during the first act and Siddharth Sagar, acting as a female choreographer, tried to teach Riteish's dinosaur how to dance during the shoot. While the comedy that followed was truly out of this world, it was the next act that really left everyone on set stunned. After Siddharth's phenomenal act on a sloped set with Punit J Pathak and BallRaaj, Riteish tried his hands at performing a dance with Siddharth on the sloped set as well. While the two danced while falling on top of each other, their electric chemistry and passionate role play on the song Lahu Munh Laga Gaya will surely leave the viewers speechless.

In fact, Genelia was also stunned! Post the act, she said, “I've never seen this passionate side of Riteish myself (laughs).” Adding on to her comment, Farah said, “Genelia, you'll have to add a slope at your house to see this side of Riteish.”

While Riteish, Genelia and Farah's banter is all set to entertain the audiences, do not miss the comic acts by all the artistes of Zee Comedy Show during this weekend's episode.

Comedy with a tadka of mystery

Backing each other up and sharing an amazing camaraderie on and off-screen is something that defines the two popular actors who are currently seen essaying lead roles in Sony SAB's Jijaji Chhat Parr Koii Hai as CP (Hiba Nawab) & Jijaji (Shubhashish Jha). While Anup Upadhyay, Soma Rathod and Rashi Bawa continue to add new dimensions to the show and its intriguing storyline, the addition of Sucheta Khanna and Jitu Shivhare and Vipin Heero have added a fresh perspective to this entirely fresh storyline.

The sparkling chemistry between CP and Jijaji is the talk of the town, and Saaya is leaving no stones unturned by creating new trouble for Jindals and Sharmas everyday.

Hiba Nawab, talking about what makes the show unique said, “The show has a completely refreshed storyline and has made a strong comeback on television weaving in a blend of genres. The show has been receiving love and appreciation from all over the country for the way its story has been knitted, recognising it to be one of the first television shows with a blend in the genre. My timing has been polished since I began shooting for this show. The current role requires me to adequately play the role of the ghost, Saaya and CP, who is today’s era girl. I have always been a fan of being a part of Sony SAB and we have luckily got some amazing directors and makers who support us.”

Make way for nayi anandi

About 13 years ago, Colors brought a new revolution on Indian TV with its path-breaking show, Balika Vadhu, that addressed the subject of child marriage in the simplest yet powerful manner. A topic that was still labelled as taboo in our country was brought to life through Anandi’s story that took the nation by storm. While the show successfully changed many lives and mindsets, the evil custom of baal vivaah is still prevalent and thriving in some parts of our country. With an aim to bring about a change and reignite conversations to eradicate child marriage custom from society, the channel is set to launch Balika Vadhu Season 2.

The show will capture the journey of a nayi Anandi (played by Shreya Patel) as she takes definitive steps to fight and undo the injustice done to her. Produced by Sphere Origins, Balika Vadhu Season 2 will premiere on August 9, 2021 and will air Monday to Friday at 8:00 pm only on Colors.

Talking about playing Anandi, Shreya Patel said, “My family always told me about the special place the character of Anandi holds in the hearts of many Indians. I am extremely excited as well as a little nervous to play a character that left such an impact on everyone. My character of Anandi in many ways is like who I am, she is brave, happy and loves doing garba. I eagerly look forward to the new journey.”
