There are some movies that should never be released commercially. Not that they are not good, such films are only appreciated by a niche audience who is looking for some kind of meaningful cinema. The rest are going to be entertained and why not.
Watching a movie is an expensive fare. What with the tickets and the prices of popcron and a soft drink going up steadily. In such a situation does one really want to sit through a film that is dead in every aspectIJ Rukh may be about raw emotions and father-son relationship but it needs pace too.
Debutant director Atanu Mukherjee may have chosen a subject that is reality but he forgot that there has to be elements of interest and fun that will keep the audience glued to their seats rather than get up loo break in the 106 minute movie.
It is the sheer monotony that kills the film. The dialogues are stilted are their deliveryby the actors who take seconds to just deliver a line. The reactions in an explosive situation are slow too.
The worst part is that the talent of such a versatile actor like Manoj Bajpayee is totally wasted here. Please Mr Bajpayee pick up a script and truly showcases your acting abilities.
