Most of us are dreamers and have a passion but few of us manage to live our dream or pursue what we love. In that sense Bollywood Diaries sends a message to all — don’t give up on your dream. Director KD Satyam, through three protagonists, takes you on a journey on what people are willing to do, to the point of madness — in the film to become big stars in Bollywood.
Take Ashish Vidyarthi who plays Vishnu, a 52-year-old, once a theatre actor but forced to do 9 to 5 job. He seeks help from a guru to, believe it or not, take birth in the home of a Bollywood star. He is even given a mantra for this —Om Bollywood starayam namah!
If this is not enough, its dialogues are filmi too — “Manzil toh mil hi jayegi bhatak kar he sahi, gumrah toh woh hain jo ghar se nikle hi nahin” and “Bollywood ki producersaur director ko koi pharak nahin padta, chamri gori ho ya kali, bas chamri mein talent hona chahiye talent” — but Satyam can be forgiven for the simple reason that his leads want to be actors.
In a week when you have a movies like Aligarh and The Revenant one can give this film a miss.
