A showcase for Anil Kapoor is all you can say to explain this wonder blunder. There is no story. There is no explanation for the sequence of events on which it sprawls. There is only Anil Kapoor and his revetting performance. But even that gets dented by his choice of a bad script and helpless mediocre direction.

A failed singer wants his obese daughter to become another lata Mangeshkar and organises the kidnapping of a singing sensation to blackmail some reality show producer to give a grand finale spot to his daughter, too obviously named lata.

So many big stars with known talent are wasted on the film. Divya Dutta cries through the proceedings. It is utmost bewilderment as to what Aishwarya Rai doing there as Baby Singh! The only thing I could notice and appreciate was her back to shape appearance with million dollar legs, much like the Dhoom days. Even more befuddling was Rajkummar Rao as her beau. looked so odd that you got embarrassed about it!

Other than that, there is nothing that Fanney Khan can brag about or argue for in its defence.

Yes, Kapoor renders a veteran performance and yes the song and dance reworking old numbers gave the viewers some brief moments of relief. Other than that, Fanney was the weakest link this week.
