‘Being in the show is like doing tapasya’

It was a difficult choice  for 36-year-old actor Karanvir Bohra to say yes to Bigg Boss as that meant staying away for three months from his twin daughters Vienna and Raya Bella and wife Teejay. Hence, his nod came only at the last moment. Initially, Bohra and Teejay were approached to enter the show as a jodi but his wife had to take care of the girls.

“Our main concern was who is going to take care of the kids if we enter the House as a jodi. I wish the kids were also allowed in the show. Then all four would have come together. Not having my favourite girls around me is a challenge. I am an emotional person and I miss them terribly,” Bohra said before entering the House.

For Bohra Bigg Boss is more than just a show. “I am not here to show who I am. I am here to be myself. It is not just a show to showcase yourself and get more work and fame. This show is like doing tapasya,” Bohra shares, adding that one task that he would not like to do in the Bigg House is cooking.

“Whatever limited food that we will get, I don’t want to burn that. My other inmates will hate me the most for this,” Bohra chuckles.

Talking about the  strategy he is going to use to stay in this game, Bohra says: “You can’t strategise on a show like Bigg Boss because you have to tackle one day at a time. Every week a new villain and a new hero is born. You have to go with the flow with whatever is happening around and take a stand on what is right. If someone is wrong, I will not stand with them even though he is a good friend. There are bound to have fights but we need to understand that somehow everybody is right in their own right. You are right or wrong for others.”

If he does go on to win the show, he intends to save the money for his girl’s future.

‘Want to win this to bring my in-laws closer’

She is TV’s  favourite bahu. Simar of Sasural Simar Ka, Dipika Kakar is already stealing the limelight in the Bigg House. Before entering the show, Kakar made it clear that no matter how big the problem, she would do everything in her power to keep her dignity.

“Empty utensils make a sound. Bigg Boss is a mental game and you are forced to stay with people who you would not like to even talk to. People will try to manipulate you and pick a fight over small issues. But I will draw a line to keep my dignity. I will not abuse since I don’t in personal life either,” Kakar says.

Though she has been married for less than a year, her in-laws and husband (TV actor Shoaib Ibrahim) were all supportive. “It was offered to me even last year too but I had other commitments. This year, I said yes as a collective decision with my husband. It is going to be a testing time for both of us. I am excited about being a part of such a big show. At the same time, I am a little emotional because I have never stayed away from the family with no contact. I’m going to miss them a lot and cry,” Kakar tells you.

She has come with the mindset to win the show by giving her best  and be true to her personality.

“People have seen me as Simar and showered me with their love and support. Now, I’m going to be Dipika who is a simple girl-next-door kind of person. People will be able to connect with me on a more personal level. I want my fans to know the real me. I owe to them is that I don’t put on the mask when I am in the House. I will be myself. I do not want to go in the House with a strategy or preparation as it is a very unpredictable show,” Kakar says.

If she does manage to win, Kakar tells you that she wants to buy a house for her in-laws so that they can all stay in the same building.
