Darr @ The Mall
Starring: Jimmy Shergill, Nushrat Bharucha, Arif Zakaria, Asif Basra, Nivedita Bhattacharya
Rated: 5/10
One just wishes that if Bollywood has to copy some things from Hollywood, it should, at least, do a good job of it. Our directors should not think that the audience is ill-informed. But it appears that director Pavan Kirpalani, of Ragini MMS fame, feels just that. By taking a bad CGI from the movie The Mummy and a few scenes from The Horror Story, etc Kirpalani has ensured that the end product — here the movie — is almost laughable.
The title of the movie says Darr... Well, for those who love horror movies will be extremely disappointed because there is no darr. The fear factor in the movie is created through music. So every time the music plays one knows what to expect. It is this predictability that takes away the suspense and the fright quotient. The performance by the starcast is passable. And one didn’t realise that Mr Shergill was so desperate for movies that he would sign on the dotted line of the first movie that came his way. Over all, one can give this one a miss.
