In a broad daylight incident, unidentified miscreants shot dead a youth in a shop at Farathiya more under Garhwa police station area around 5 kms away from the district headquarter, on Monday.
The youth was identified as Hasib Khan (35) who died on way to hospital. To protest against the murder, hundreds of protesters snatched the body with stretcher from health staffs while they were taking the body for post mortem. Protesters placed the body of the victim on the highway 75 near Manjhiaon more.
On way to hospital to Manjhiaon more protesters broke the mirror of several vehicles and shops. They were demanding immediate arrest of the criminals. The administration deployed large police force in the area and persuading the protesters to move out of the highway. After police assurance, protester lifted the blockade. SPDO Bahman Tutti said that body was sent for post mortem at Garhwa hospital. “Police were awaiting to receive a written complaint from family members for lodging an FIR,” he said.
