As per the pre-scheduled programme, ex-MP Yashwant Sinha demonstrated a dharna along with BJP workers in front of GM Office of Electricity Board on Monday against the irregularities-malpractices going on in the department and poor power supply condition in and around Hazaribagh.
The program started at 11 am. large number of BJP workers in which the number of female workers was impressive, gathered in front of electricity board’s GM Office and with the arrival of Yashwant the round of hot speeches against the department by the leaders of local BJP unit started which went on till 2 p.m.
In the meantime irked with the absence of GM in his chamber the BJP workers have locked the chamber. Delay in his arrival was making the workers more angry as the time was passing. After 2 p.m. GM arrived in his office and stepped towards his chamber. Angry female workers of BJP caught him in the verandah and tied him with the grill.
GM D Jha tried to explain the cause of delay but no one was ready to hear him. Then executive engineer RV Mishra came forward and tried to talk with Yashwant and other leaders. The BJP leaders and workers were not in a mood to forgive the GM so finally the employees of electricity board informed the police.
The police team came and first tried to solve the matter but when they failed arrested Yashwant and BJP workers and brought them to Sadar Police Station. At Sadar Police Station Yashwant was told to give a personal bond for which he refused.
At the time of filing of this report Yashwant and BJP workers were in custody in Sadar Police Station. Efforts were going on from district administration and police administration side to solve and calm down the situation but Yashwant and his followers were adamant on their stand.
Interestingly on Monday from 11 a.m. power has gone in the town area and it came for a few minutes at the time when GM came to his office and again for few minutes after arresting of the agitators. Though officially no one from board has opened his mouth about this power cut but it seems that they too are revenging the act of BJP workers with the power cut which is still going on.
