Premier Business Management institute Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi is all set to launch two new courses -- new Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) and PGCM Geo-Spatial Technology Application in Rural Development. The FPM was this month approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). This Full-Time Non-Residential program will be a 3-year doctoral level management research programme.
The FPM programme is envisioned to improve the existing knowledge base in the field of research and distribute it to a wider audience. It will enhance the body of knowledge in the research domain and its dissemination. It is aimed at admitting scholars with exceptional academic background, strong motivation, discipline and having a strong inclination towards good quality research and publications.
Dr Joseph Marianus Kujur, Director, XISS expressed his happiness over the new program and said, “It gives me immense pleasure to announce that XISS is fulfilling its commitment for better education in the State. At XISS, we believe that excellence can only be achieved through education and this new FPM, a full-time non-residential program, is our effort in the same direction. In future, we will launch some other courses as well which will be well-aligned with today’s needs of the industry and market.”
XISS, Ranchi will offer FPM in Human Resource Management, Rural Management, Marketing Management, and Financial Management. There is no age restriction for the candidates and the total number of seats is 10. Applicants can fill the online form and make an online payment of Rs. 2500/- (including taxes) at the XISS admission portal. The second course - Post Graduate Certificate Management (PGCM) Geo-Spatial Technology Application in Rural Development will be launched in the month of July approved by the AICTE.
Geospatial Technology encompasses multiple disciplines viz, GIS, remote sensing, geodesy, GPS, and cartography. It has tremendous utility and applications and are mainly oriented to solve real world management problems pertaining to natural as well as man-made environments. The course aims to provide conceptual knowledge as well as hands-on training on GIS, remote sensing and related fields including GPS, DGPS and ETS. The course has been developed keeping in view the emerging trends in the field of Geospatial Technology and to meet the increasing needs of skilled manpower that will cater to the needs of both the Govt as well as private sector.
This AICTE approved course is creatively designed for thorough learning and skill imparting. Well-equipped air-conditioned computer lab with internet facility, each trainee works exclusively on his/her computer. All popular, powerful, and user-friendly software including Arc-GIS, ERDAS imagine, Geomedia, ENVI, 1-GIS and open-source softwares like Q-GIS, Google Earth Engine are available. One Year long (Two Semesters) course with over 600 hours theory, Lab Practical, and three months of project work. The course will also ensure expert faculties from academics and ICT industry with widespread subject and practical knowledge.
