Sunday observed as World Health Day across the capital city highlighting health menaces like high blood pressure, or hypertension .This year the theme of World Health Day is high blood pressure as it is a major health issue which affects the lives of nearly 40 per cent of adults over the age of 25 years in this region.
To commemorate the World Health Day, a variety of health activities including Health lectures, surveys, Health Screening and display of health museum and movies will be done at Dipatoli Military station till Wednesday to tackle one of the most important lifestyle-related problems of the modern world.
The celebration started with health screening and health counselling of old age people at “Vridashram (Senior citizen home)” which was inaugurated by Nandini Varma, Chairperson Family Welfare Organization Cockerel Division. Col R K Choudhary, lt Col Smitha Mishra, lt Col Suresh P,Major RN Hiremath, Major Arif Salim and various other medical and non-medical fraternities attended the inauguration ceremony.
