On the occasion of World Environment Day, a prize distribution programme was organized at BSL Human Resource Development Center, following the rules of social distancing. During this occasion, Executive Director (Operations) AtanuBhowmik was the Chief Guest. The awardees were present in the program along with Chief General Manager (Maintenance) DN Mohanty, Chief General Manager (HRD) BS Popli and General Manager (Environmental Control) NP Srivastava.
The visiting guests and participants were welcomed by NP Srivastava, General Manager (Environmental Control). He discussed the efforts being made by the Bokaro Steel Plant towards environmental protection and highlighted the importance of World Environment Day 2020. Upendra Narayan, Sampler (Department of Environmental Control) administered the environmental pledge to the participants. Chief Guest Bhowmick specially discussed the achievements made in the field of environmental control by BSL and motivated everyone to work together for environment and water conservation.
During the programme, General Manager (CO & BPP) KN Jha was declared as the Nodal Environment Officer for the year 2020. Arun Kumar and AnjumParvez Khan of Hot Strip Mill and VK Vajpayee of SMS-1 were rewarded for their remarkable achievements towards environmental protection. Apart from this, in the backdrop of World Environment Day, the winners of online events organized this year were also honored. In the online essay competition, Ranchak Kumar Pandey, AyushAmlan and Priya Kumari were the winners. Similarly, in the online slogan competition Krishna Kumar Mandal, Dr.VarshaKumari ,Anu and AdijaShekhar, Abhiraj Singh and Manorama Kumari were winners in the online poster competition.
