The Delhi Police has arrested a woman Maoist from Jharkhand. The 23-year-old woman Maoist hails from Kudaburu village in West Singhbhum district and was living in Delhi hiding her identity.
She was working as a house cleaner at Maharana Pratap Enclave in Pitampura. After months of surveillance, the police have succeeded in arresting her.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Vikram Singh said that the woman Maoist was arrested after conducting a raid following information about the presence of Maoists in the NCR. Investigation revealed that she had come to Delhi in 2020 and was working as a domestic help in Noida and Delhi through a fake Aadhaar card, he said.
Cases are registered against the arrested woman Maoist under several serious sections. A non-bailable warrant was issued against her by a Jharkhand court on March 26, 2023. According to the police, she was involved in an encounter with the Jharkhand Police in Kolhan in 2018. In 2019, she had attacked the police with a Naxal squad in Podahat and in 2020 in Sonua.
During interrogation, the Maoist confessed that she had taken training in handling weapons for 5 years. She knows how to use weapons like 303 rifle, SLR, INSAS rifle and grenades.
