Will not step back on domicile: CM

PNS

Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said that he will not take back or unnecessarily go for making changes in the domicile policy unless serious flaws are found in it. He said that the people of the State, fed up with uncertainty and divisive politics, have welcomed the domicile policy and there was no question of going back on the decision.

“Once I have taken the decision there is no going back. The policy will stay and people will get employment as per the policy. Once they are employed, poverty will automatically go down and it will solve many problems on its own. Only those, who have been playing politics in the name of domicile policy, are making hue and cry now,” he said.

“I welcome suggestions. Point out the mistakes and we will rectify. There is always a scope of correction. The provision is there in the constitution itself,” Das added, while talking to media persons in an informal meeting at his office here on Tuesday.

The CM talked about development plans of the government in detail saying that the aim of the government is to bring Jharkhand in the list of developed states by the year 2019. “When I took charge of office, I saw that there are huge vacancies for teachers. That was a testing phase when I started teachers’ recruitment for the first time. Everything went well and we started the second phase. And, then, there was no domicile policy. We have a policy in hand now. We have political and bureaucratic will and stability in the government. So, no one is going to stop us now,” he said.

“The condition of power, roads, water availability has improved significantly. It has to be perfect. I aim to ensure 24x7 power in the State by 2018 and in next two years we will supply clean drinking water in all rural areas of the State through pipelines. Roads are being built across the State. I have asked the officials to work with all dedication to complete projects in time,” he added.

Elaborating on the green mission with water conservation work of the government, Das said that the State government will begin a massive drive to plant fruiting plants beside more than one lakh Dovas in the State. “Besides our efforts to conserve water, we are also starting a massive green mission from June 15. Fruiting plants will be planted alongside the one lakh dovas that will be dug in the State. This exercise will have participation of all MPs, MlAs, government officials and rural representatives besides the rural population. This way we will create a huge green asset alongwith water bodies in the State,” he said.
