A webinar on "Covid-19 Bio Medical Waste Management" was organised by the Department of Environmental Control of BSL before the World Environment Day. General Manager (ECD) NP Srivastava, ACMO (Medical & Health Services) Dr. BK Sharma, ACMO (Medical & Health Services) Dr C Bandopadhyay, General Manager (Medical & Health Services) Binod Kumar Including nursing school girls and hospital medical personnel were connected online in large numbers.
In the webinar, AGM (ECD) Nitesh Ranjan presented a paper on proper disposal of Covid-19 Bio Medical Waste. During the webinar, various sections of Bio Medical Waste Rules-2016 were discussed in detail along with methods of pre-treatment, segregation and disposal of Bio Medical Waste of PPE and other Covid-19 Bio Medical Waste.
Sharing information COC Manikant Dhan said that Bokaro General Hospital has its own dual fired captive incinerator of 50 kg per hour capacity for proper disposal of bio medical waste. Regular training is also given to the personnel of Bokaro General Hospital for proper disposal of Bio Medical Waste.
