The election for various posts of Ranchi District Bar Association (RDBA) for the year 2019- 2021 was held on Friday in the State Capital. A total of 1630 voters against 1966 exercise their franchise.
The election is single post of president, vice president, general secretary, treasurer and assistant treasurer and two posts for joint secretary. The Bar Association will also choose nine executive committee members.
There were two polling centres at basement of newly constructed building of Bar Association. Each centre consisted of twenty two booths. Two invigilators- Amar Kumar Singh and Rajesh Kumar Shukla were deployed by the State Bar Council. A team of seventeen members were constituted to conduct fair and peaceful elections.
There were four candidates for president, seven candidates for the post of vice president, seven candidates contesting for general secretary while a total of 14 candidates were in fray for two posts of joint secretary. A total of three candidates are contesting for the post of treasurer and six candidates are in fray for assistant treasurer. A total of 47 candidates are in fray for the nine posts of executive committee.
The result will be announced on Saturday on May 11, for the post of president, Vice president, General Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer.
