All results of village local body election have been announced now. The counting concluded late last evening at both Hazaribagh and Barhi counting centers. In this more than one month-long exercise and three-day long counting process many results surprised both the political pundits of the district and the people.

This time the voters chose new faces giving a jolt to many political heavyweights and to old representatives. More than 60 per cent posts have been occupied by fresh faces this time right from the post of ward councilor to the post of member district board. Only a few old warriors were declared passed in this exam of votes.

The results of village local body election of Hazaribagh district will remain in memories for long because this time the voters brutally refused the requests of some well-known political heavyweights of the district and State. The most surprising results came from Katkamsandi seat for district board member. Shakuntala Devi wife of Ex-MP Bhuvneshwar Prasad Mehta was fighting for this seat remained on 3rd spot much behind than the winners and its nearest rival.

In Barhi and Chauparan blocks too many political bigshots were shocked by the voters. The candidate supported by Ex-MlA Akela Yadav remained on 6th position while Ex-member cum BJP leader Arjun Sao failed to cross a thousand votes mark.

The results brought smiles as well on the faces of some important political figures of the district and State. Chandan Devi, the wife of Barkattha MlA Janki Yadav, once again won the district board member seat of the block. Mithila Patel, wife of District RJD President Bhuvneshwar Patel got elected from Vishnugarh while Priyanka Kumari, an upcoming leader of the district won from Katkamdag block.

Now all results are out and the race for prestigious district board’s Chairman Seat has begun. This time the seat is reserved for women and that is why outgoing Chairman Brajkishor Jaiswal, father of MlA Manish Jaiswal, remained out of the fray. It is in talks that he had supported Sushila Devi who had won from Barkagaon will be his candidate for the chair. Other names in the race are of Chandan Devi, Mithila Patel, Priyanka Kumari and Uma Devi. Though it is early stage but within a week all faces in the race will become clear.
