Vijay Hansda's induction in JMM irks Congress

PNS

Infuriated over the induction of Vijay Hansda, son of former Congress State President Thomas Hansda into the JMM on Wednesday, the Congress party expressed its displeasure over the issue and said that if the JMM does not reconsider its decision, they will have to think about continuing with the alliance in the State.

Congress President Sukhdeo Bhagat on Wednesday also met Chief Minister Hemant Soren to register his complaint. Hansda reportedly is to contest lok Sabha elections from Rajmahal seat which is said to be in the JMM quota as per the pre-poll alliance signed by Congress and JMM. JMM MlA Hemlal Murmu, who fought from Rajmahal seat in the last lok Sabha elections, has also expressed strong objections over the decision taken by the party.

“I had contested last last lok Sabha elections in the last Parliamentary elections and lost the seat for merely 8,000 votes. I have a bigger stake on the seat,” said Murmu. I would had been consulted before taking the decision, he added.
