An 8 member vigilance team raided the child development project office of Vishnugarh block of Hazaribagh district and arrested two people along with CDPO (Child Development Project Officer) taking bribe on Tuesday late evening. The arrested people include CDPO Archana Ekka, office employee Nagendra Sharma and CDPO’s driver Sanjay Prasad.
Inspectors of Vigilance Narendra Paswan and Awdhesh Kumar Singh who visited Vishnugarh to conduct this raid said that we received the complaint from an Aanganbari center worker, Parvati Devi of Madmo village of Vishnugarh block. She complained that the CDPO was demanding Rs. 20,000 from her as bribe.
On the complaint, the vigilance team reached Parvati’s village and gave her chemically coated 20 notes of Rs. 500. Parvati went to the CDPO’s office to give the money where on the instruction of CDPO, the office boy Nagendra Sharma took the money. As soon as he accepted the money, the vigilance team arrested him and proved him guilty by making him wash his hands. The team also informed that Rs10,000 and Rs8,000 were recovered from the office.
The vigilance team consisted of Amit Kumar, TN Singh, SN Singh, Dinesh Singh, Premlal Mehto and two woman constables. The team has taken the arrested persons to Ranchi.
