A number of schemes like Mukhya Mantri Vidya laxmi Yojana, distribution of uniforms and school kits announced on the 16th Foundation Day of the State, will soon be implemented in all the schools functioning at various districts. The Human Resource Department has already issued a circular to various District Education Officers to complete the task within the set timeframe.
The circular issued by Department of School Education and literacy mentioned that the work for implementing various schemes must be completed on or before December 15.
Citing details about implementing the schemes and its deadline, School Education and literacy department Secretary, Aradhana Patnaik said, “We have received many complaints from various districts that many schemes are not being implemented and therefore, keeping one deadline in mind, the department has issued circular to all the concerned education officers to complete the work on or before December 15. Those districts officers failing to implement schemes will have to face strict action.”
Mukhya Mantri Vidya laxmi Yojana is to combat dropout rates among the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes girls. The ST/SC girl candidates studying in class 6 will have a bank account and by the time girl candidates completes class 9, the fund in the bank account will be given to her.
Many Districts Education Officers have already started implementing the schemes and beliefs that they will target the maximum number of candidates in the first phase before the deadline. Shivendra Kumar, District Education Officer of Hazaribagh, said, “Before receiving the circular from the department, we have started working on implementing all the important schemes but due to Panchayat election we are facing certain constraints. So far we have indentified 2, 36,512 students who will get the benefits as prescribed in school kits scheme.”
“As far as the implementation of Mukhya Mantri Vidya laxmi Yojana is concerned, we have received Rs 39.96 lakh for the scheme. We have identified 3,590 beneficiaries of the scheme and till date 1,391 bank accounts of girl candidates have been opened and the work will be completed in the given deadline,” added Kumar.
Similarly, in Ranchi District too the education officers have identified the beneficiaries of all the schemes and are implementing the plans. “We have identified 4033 beneficiaries of Mukhya Mantri Vidya laxmi Yojana and have received Rs 8.57 lakh for the scheme and we will complete the implementation procedure in the given deadline,” said Ranchi DSE, Jayant Kumar Mishra.
However, there are few districts in the state where the execution of Vidya laxmi Yojana scheme is being done in a slow pace. “We have received the money but we are not sure that money is for which particular scheme and moreover implementing Vidya laxmi scheme will take some time as we have to open approximately 1 lac accounts and till December 15, it is not possible but we will try to complete the work in given time,” informed DSE of Pakur, Arun Kumar.
