The unsuccessful examinees of degree part I 2015 exam of Vinoba Bhave University are once again on the path of agitation. Student organisation AIDSO is leading such examinees. On Sunday VC Vinoba Bhave University Prof Gurdeep Singh came up with an old plan to cool down the agitating students.

In a hurriedly called press conference VC Prof Gurdeep Singh informed that the university is ready to provide photocopy of answer books to the students after paying `1500. It was an old decision of syndicate of Vinoba Bhave University which was rejected by the present Vice Chancellor last year. last year after publication of result many examinees had taken the photocopies of their answer books after paying `1500 and it was found that the examiners had made under marking in many cases.

When the matter came to fore the VBU administration cancelled the scheme. On Sunday when the authorities were asked why they were considering the old decision, the VC said that the examination board had taken this decision and in next syndicate meeting they will take its approval.

Talking to media persons the VC gave some data to prove that the agitating students were wrong. He informed that in part I 2015 examination about 90,000 students appeared in which about 40 per cent were declared fail. For these failed students VBU took a special exam in which about 20,000 examinees appeared and out of them 60 per cent remained unsuccessful. So the claim of agitating students that 90 per cent students have been failed is wrong, he added.

On the other hand students’ leaders say that out of unsuccessful about 40,000 students a little above 4000 have been declared pass so they are claiming that 90 per cent students have been failed.

On Saturday the agitating students of almost of colleges of all districts, which come under VBU had once again expressed their anger in front of VC office and had blocked the traffic on NH33 for hours. Especially girl students were furious mood on Saturday due to which VC Prof Singh hardly managed to escape from the backside of the office on a bike.

The main tussle between the agitating students and VBU administration is on the question of proper evaluation of answer books. On the basis of previous experience students are not ready to accept that this time answer books were properly evaluated and VBU administration is not ready to provide them the photocopy of their answer books like it is provided in Siddhu Kanhu Murmu University, Dumka, where photocopies are given to examinees on a mere charge of `10 as RTI application and the charge of photocopy if the written part of their answer books.
