UD Minister takes 'Digital India' cue for grievance redressal

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘digital India’ initiative is trending upward in Ranchi as UD Minister CP Singh launched ‘online automated complain module’ on Friday in the capital to solve people’s problems with utmost transparency where he himself will maintain strict vigil on the effectiveness of the mechanism as well as promptness of officials in addressing those problems.

The machinery that has been put in place include online complaint registration for internet savvy population, message service and voice message for common man who do not enjoy the luxury of internet and video upload to draw attention towards problems that need intervention of the local MlA.

The digital infrastructure comprises website (www.cpsingmla.com), mobile number of a call centre (9570444411) and direct email-id (ourcpsingh@gmail.com).

“Following the ‘digital India’ initiative of the PM, I am launching the Jan Seva Kendra for the people of Ranchi. Anyone can register complain on the number given from Monday to Saturday between 10am-5pm,” said Singh.

The website based complaint registration system requires a person to furnish personal details such as name, contact number, email address and details of the problems such as subject, complaint, related department, supporting image or video besides additional information that complainant wishes to bring to the legislator’s notice. The voice based complaint registration mechanism works through the call centre number which traps the information provided by the complainant.

Both the mechanisms create a ticket number for complain registered followed by a confirmation message with the ticket number which is sent to the complainant and details of that complain is simultaneously forwarded to the concerned official of the related department.

An action taken report is sought from the official and if the complain is not addressed then it is forwarded to the superior authority in the department and then to the Minister if it fails to generate any action from the head of the department.

Notably, contact details of 10 government officials mostly of Ranchi Municipal Corporation have been fed into the system as the battery of officials and supporters behind the Minister’s tryst with the voters of his constituency on the digital platform aim to link more government officials to the platform. However, the digital platform is only for people of Ranchi assembly constituency. The officials linked to the platform have been provided a login details to post actions taken against complain.

“We have setup this only for Ranchi constituency because of limited infrastructure. I have started this as MlA not as a Minister,” added Singh.

Efforts are also being made to update the system with contact details of all police stations of Ranchi to extend the scope of grievance redressal system.
