Rural Development Minister KN Tripathi was here on Friday as per his much anticipated developmental tour of the State, which has started from June 25 and is fixed to conclude on July 10. As per his fixed programme Minister Tripathi had to reach here but delayed in arrival and then inclusion of fresh programmes disappointed both people and media.
In the morning, as per pre-scheduled program the Minister had to sit with the district officials in a meeting at Circuit House and then from 11 am he had to participate in Janta Darbar at Nagar Bhawan. Due to his late arrival and then time taken by his partymen the Minister reached in his Janta Darbar at about 1 p.m.
A large number of people, local representatives, district board members, common villagers, representatives of different organisations, members of NGOs, members of self help groups were there to put their problems before the Minister. The Janta Darbar started and after hearing just 3-4 persons on behalf of the Minister it was announced that the program has delayed so those who wanted to put their problems can submit it in writing.
Disappointed villagers finally submitted their problems in writing in the Janta Darbar with a hope that Minister will get time to read them and will solve their problems.
After this, the program of meeting with SHG president and secretaries started which was concluded in hurry with distribution of some identity cards among the village local body members. The Minister also gave cheques of Rs18,500 to some beneficiaries of Indira Awass Yojna and cheques of Rs15,000 to some members of women self help groups.
As per the documents distributed the total number of beneficiaries of IAY in the district is 350 out of which more than 100 were present in the Town Hall but only five were lucky in receiving the cheque. Similarly representatives of only a few female SHGs out of total 129 selected groups got the cheque of Rs15,000 as loan on
seven per cent interest from Minister KN Tripathi.
As per the program provided by district administration from 3:30 pm Tripathi was to meet with the media persons of Hazaribagh. Just before 3 pm it was informed that the programme has been preponed and now instead of 3:30 p.m. the Minister will meet the media persons at 3 pm.
The scribes rushed to Circuit House where it was informed that Minister has gone to visit some spots of developmental works going on in Katkamdag and Ichak blocks with an assurance that within a few minutes he will be back. Mediamen waited till 4:30 p.m. and then unanimously decided to boycott the press meet and returned.
