Town under canine siege!

PNS

On Saturday, a bunch of stray dogs attacked a disabled girl in the town near Zila School chowk around noon when the street wore a deserted look. In a similar incident couple of weeks back, a widow from Hyderabad had to face a pack of 50 stray dogs.

The disabled was somehow saved by passersby. The girl recieved injuries to shoulder and hand. The frightened girl was unable to fend for herself and was crying loudly. Hearing her screams, passersby rushed to her rescue and shooed out the stray dogs. She was rushed to sadar hospital.

When The Pioneer asked Executive Officer of Medininagar Nagar Parishad Ajay Kumar Saw as to what the civic body is doing to curb stray dog menace in the town, he responded, “We have no dog catcher here. let me see what can be done with these stray dogs.”

According to residents, due to the presence of large number of stray dogs in the town, morning walkers were forced to to carry sticks in their hands to fend for themselves from the menace.
