Making the moment opportune, BJP leader Yashwant Sinha tried to secure pre-poll advantage at constituency level from Wikileaks which held erstwhile Congress leadership first Prime Minister Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru squarely responsible for the 1962 defeat in Indo China war.
“It’s time to ensure a strong leader at Centre, once at place, the Chinese audacity related to border intrusion will subdue”, he said. He referred to the defeat as ‘historic’ and ‘insulting’ and ‘avoidable’ only for the sake of the weak-spined man to lead the largest democracy of the world. He said that Congress cannot disown its responsibility of being at fault for the defeat.
Countering the question of dynasty politics Sinha fielded the question smoothly by saying that a well deserved son of a leader getting ticket can not be compared to deplorable Congress culture where all kith and kin including Sasur-Damad, Pappu type Beta-Beti otherwise grossly disqualified overtakes the deserving ones solely for their belonging to a particular family. He denied any chaos or confusion prevailing in party regarding ticket distribution saying there is ample time for elections are to be held in stages and things will settle in due course.
