Three of the five criminals of a newly formed group called SPM (Shashtra People’s Morcha) have been caught and jailed. The new outfit was set up to extract easy money by way of levy.
The SPM was behind the arson of three JCB machines in Panki police station. The burning was done for the levy. The incident had occurred on July 4. In just 4 days time the police cracked the case and busted the SPM. The SPM got demolished before it could have consolidated its position. THe SPM was raised about two weeks back only claimed Palamu SP YS Ramesh.
The arrests were of Arvind, Ajay and Kamlesh. Arvind is the leader said Ramesh. Two are absconding. And these two are Poshnath and Permod. Police have recovered one country made gun, rifle and a katta with two cartridges.
The weapons were in the house of Arvind and hidden in a heap of straw. There came no resistance from the SPM. The motive behind SPM was to be as dreadful as TPC, PlFI etc in times to come. However the Palamu police crushed it before it could have raised its ugly head. There stands just one episode of arson against SPM.
About Arvind the SP said Arvind is on bail and is an accused under Arms Act. Kamlesh another arrested is also an accused under Arms Act. Among the weapon was a wood piece resembling a fearful weapon like sten gun or tear gas sheller.
The look was most horrible to cause chill in the spine of any one at night said the DSP PK Barwar. The weapon was black in colour and had anyone kept it on shoulder at night this wood piece carved like any dreadful weapon would have meant a two inch mortar or rocket launcher to any one.
