A technical expert in water shed management in DRDA Palamu S K Roshan (35) was shot at near Navketan cinema hall around 7.57 am on Friday morning who after two hours of battle for life succumbed to his injuries.
A PCR van had rushed him to the sadar hospital where he was given emergency treatment and then referred to RIMS Ranchi but he died.
Residents blocked Chhoumuhan in Daltonganj demanding arrest of the killer and job in form of compensation. SDO N K Gupta and DSP Premanth had a tough time in handling the squatters. The road jam lasted.
According to DDC Palamu Bindu Madhav Prasad Singh Roshan was a technical expert in Jal Chajan management. He was a contractual employee and did his duty well. His murder has shocked everyone he added.
It was SP Palamu Indrajeet Mahatha who gave a blow by blow account of this murder.
SP said “ Roshan reached school bus stop near the Navketan cinema hall around 7.47 am today. He was there for 10 minutes. He got his child boarded the school bus. He was going down his house barely 50 yards away from the school bus stop when a lone youth lean and thin and around 20 years old came too close to him and fired a single shot that hit him in his neck and that proved fatal. He was shot at 7.57 am”
“ The killer came on foot. He went back on foot. He looked not much in hurry. He just took the same lane from where he had come to kill. It appeared he was on this mission. He fired just one shot and hit Roshan in his neck. He was in a pool of blood then” said SP.
Sources said it was a planned, pre mediated murder as the killer knew in advance the morning routine of Roshan.
Police are yet to find out the motive behind this murder.
One theory that SP gave is that Roshan had a sour relation with his immediate neighbor ( name withheld).
SP went on to say Roshan and his friend Pramode had bought a house jointly near this Navketan cinema hall and from day one of this purchase of this house there was some hostility between these two Roshan - Pramode and this neighbour.
