Reaffirming its commitment for the betterment of the SC/ST communities, Tata Steel has come to the aid of financially needy engineering aspirants. A total of 31 SC/ST students are being supported by Tata Steel’s Tribal Cultural Society to undergo engineering coaching at one of the leading coaching institute, Prerna Classes, in Jamshedpur.
To launch the intervention, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on July 25, 2014, between the Tribal Cultural Society and Prerna Classes, Jamshedpur at Tribal Culture Centre, Sonari in Jamshedpur.Biren Bhuta, chief, CSR, Tata Steel, s Urmila Ekkka, secretary, Tribal Cultural Society, Pramod Dubey, director, Prerna Classes, were present along with 31 engineering aspirants.
Of the 31 SC/ST students who have been enrolled for engineering coaching, 10 students will undergo one year course (offered for 12th pass) while 21 students will be coached for two years (offered for 10th pass).
