Tata Steel officer's wife accuses husband of torture

PNS

Wife of a Tata Steel officer met the senior superintendent of police Anoop T Mathew to lodge complain against the alleged torture by her husband and father-in-law.

Though she was unable to meet SSP, the woman spoke to the media near the SSP office and narrated what is being meted out to her ever since she married to Nishant Singh in February,2013. Vinita Singh (29) along with her mother Saroj Singh had come from Singrauli.

"I am in state of shock and can’t bear the torture any more. My husband is visually-impaired and taking my husband's weakness, my father-in-law has tried to sexually harass me.  He has made attempts on me twice, but I managed to keep my safe," the woman alleged talking to media.

According to Vinita, earlier she had problems from her father-in-law only, but later her husband had also joined her father-in-law and started giving physical torture.

Vinita who originally hailed from Uttar Pradesh had settled in Singrauli district in Madhya Pradesh where her father works in a public sector company.  Interestingly, despite making the wild allegation against Nishant and father-in-law, Vinita is staying at the same residence at TC Colony in Kadma, where her husband and father-in-law stay.

On the other hand Nishant, who works in Tata Steel's Information Technology ( IT) Services department, refuted at the allegations. He was surprised to know about his wife going to the SSP office along with his mother-in-law for seeking police protection. Nishant said he and his father Shushil Kumar Singh have to live in a horrible condition as Vinita is an arrogant lady.

Officer-in-charge, Mahila Thana, Priyanka Anand confirmed that Vinita had approached them by coming over to the Thana five days ago.
