Tata Power through its joint venture company Industrial Energy limited (IEl), on Thursday announced that the company has synchronised the 67.5 MW unit 1 of its 3 x 67.5 MW IEl Kalinganagar project. These units are designed to cater to the requirement of lP steam, which is supplied to Tata Steel, which got commissioned from December, 2015. The IEl Kalinganagar project is the third unit of IEl after two operating units of 120 MW ( Unit 5 & PH #6, Jamshedpur) based on the mixture of BFG, COG, and lDG, which is environment friendly and efficient.
Anil Sardana, managing director, Tata Power, said, “The synchronising of Unit 1 of the IEl Kalinganagar project marks a significant milestone in its quest for environmentally benign generation and we are delighted with this achievement.”
