CM Raghubar Das has said his Government was taking steps to encourage sports in Jharkhand and referred to the decision of the Government providing sports persons 2 per cent reservation in jobs.
Addressing on the occasion of Sahid Tikait Umaron Singh Seikh Bhikari Sadvawana Cup after having laid foundation stone for High School Stadium at Ormanjhi, he added that in a bid to promote football, Kamal clubs are being formed throughout the State and the Government will also be providing football kits to the players.
“The competition will be conducted at block, district and state levels. Women football teams will also be prepared and hockey coaches will be hired from outside if required,” said the CM and added that girls are excelling in every field including studies and sports.
He appealed to people to keep away from middlemen and politicians who spread rumors and do vote-bank politics. “As the present Government is working sincerely, they create obstacle but we are committed to removing poverty.”He also felicitated land donors while Birhor children were given school kits. Rural Development Minister Neelkanth Singh Munda, MP Ram Tahal Choudhary, MlA Navin Jaiswal and Ram Kumar Pahan were present on this occasion.
