The annual fest gives the medical fraternity to enjoy beyond the monotonous academic routine. This year’s Synergy started on January 14. Various cultural and literary events were organised. Even on the concluding day, first year students were seen pasting a stamp of horse ‘Vidyut’, the mascot of Synergy 2015 as a symbol of welcome.

The fest was organised by 2011 MBBS batch. “A medical student is loaded with studies. We get time to interact with seniors and teachers without any hesitation during Synergy,” said Anu Anand, a first year MBBS student (2014) who bagged a position in ‘Twist of Taste’ event. Similarly, Anu’s batchmate Akanksha Rani felt medical studies is full of stress and the fest gives them chance to explore their hidden talents and refresh their minds.

The whole campus was dipped in a jovial mood on Monday. Cameraman of the institute said the fest is worth shooting as the students and teachers enthusiastically come forward in organising and participating in the events. “We have been participating in Synergy since 2001 or 2002 when it was first started. Students give us a task to do and we take it as a challenge. Also, we come to know about the special qualities of our colleagues and students.

Every year the events turn out to better,” said Pharmacology Associate Professor Dr Umashankar Keshari and Physiology Tutor Dr Kumar Ashutosh. “Even the post graduate students participate actively,” Dr Ashutosh added. Interestingly, in the duet singing rehearsals, on one side teachers were seen singing at the auditorium. On the other side, students were practicing. Moreover, teachers expressed their talents in the ramp show organised exclusively for them. The organising batch students said they are request teachers to perform on the basis of the known quality. “Some teachers are good in singing. Others are good in playing mouth organ. We ask them to perform on the basis of their abilities,” said Deepshikha, a 2011 MBBS student.
