RR Srivastava

Taking tough stand VBU V-C Surendra Singh Meena on Saturday refused the principals of 27 permanently affiliated colleges to permit them submit degree Part III examination forms with late fines as the date of submitting forms without fine has expired. The V-C clearly said to the delegation of principals that submitting the forms within time was their duty and they will have to pay fine amount.

Actually the permanently affiliated colleges of VBU are locked since the mid of November 2013. The staffs are on indefinite strike which is still continuing. Before election during the budget session of assembly their agitation was in news but after the session when the staffs returned from Ranchi the strike went out of media’s focus.

Meanwhile the VBU administration started procedure of part III 2014 exam. When filled forms from only a few permanent affiliated colleges came to examination department, the administration took it seriously and gave strict direction to the principals to arrange form distribution and submission of their admitted students. After this strict directive and alternative arrangements forms were filled by the students of affiliated colleges but the time of submission in university lapsed.

University administration has given them a special date of 25th April for  submitting the forms with fine but the principals refused to do so and decided to pray before the Vice Chancellor but their pray was not entertained. V-C Meena said that the degree final exam is scheduled to start from 8th of May and we are not going to make any change in it. Keeping in mind the students we gave an opportunity to the affiliated colleges but they failed so they will have to pay the amount.
