Student wings of various political parties are all set to motivate the young voters at college and university level for the upcoming general elections.

While Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Sangh (ABVP), the students’ wing of BJP is spreading awareness among youth voters, the Jharkhand Chhatra Morcha (JCM), the students’ wing of JMM aims to reach the family members of youth through colleges and universities.

Deepesh Kumar, state joint secretary of ABVP said, "We are moving in classrooms of every college across the state and encouraging students to be voters. We have started a #beavoter campaign on social media to encourage more youths to come forward in not just the general elections but also assembly elections scheduled at the end of this year."

The idea behind the awareness is to ensure that even if the voters miss voting in this election, they can participate in the assembly elections voting.

The ABVP members are distributing folders with pamphlets among students informing them about the growth of country and national and international front in the last five years, requesting students to choose a government which would help in further growth.

“In second phase after Holi, we will start a signature campaign at college level and will gradually move towards door to door awareness at block level,” Kumar said.
