The activists working for the protection of child rights have emphasized upon strengthening all the major child rights bodies including Child Welfare Committees (CWC), child rights commission, child panchayats besides keeping the track record of children. The experts and child rights activists from across the State on Wednesday gathered to draft Standard Operating procedure (SOP) for intensification of legal provision to curb child marriages across the State and nationwide.
Member of National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), Rupa Kapoor was present on the occasion along with the Chairperson and members of Jharkhand State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (JSCPCR). Kapoor during the meet emphasized on creating child friendly panchayats and POSCO e-box for registering complaints. She further stated that SOP will play a pivotal role in drafting concrete law for combating child marriages.
