Jharkhand police on Friday released a photograph of Dinesh Gope; the chief of banned left wing outfit PLFI; who also carries a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh on his head.
Besides Gope; Jharkhand Police also released photographs of six other rebels of PLFI. Photograph of Gope was not available with Jharkhand Police for a long time and it was recently made available.
Notably, about five days back Jharkhand Police faced embarrassment when it mistook a PLFI operative Gujju Gope as Dinesh Gope and released his picture. Later on, posters were withdrawn by Jharkhand Police.
“Jharkhand Police has also declared Rs 25 lakh cash prize on the head of Gope. Also, suitable cash prizes will be given to people who inform police about properties of Gope and other rebels. This is the part of our strategy to neutralize PLFI through a sustained planned operation,” a senior official of Jharkhand Police commented.
The photograph of Jidan Guria was also released who carries Rs 10 lakh as cash prize on his head. Besides, Jharkhand police released photographs and description of Tilkeshwar Gope, Awdhesh Kumar Jaisawal, Ajay Purty, Sanichar Surin and Mangra Lugun who carry Rs two lakh cash on their head.
Gope is the most dreaded among the rebels who is also wanted by National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the terror funding and money laundering cases. NIA even arrested both of his wives Heera Devi and Shakuntala Devi Few years back Jharkhand Police had started a drive to confiscate his properties.
But Gope remains elusive to an extent that Jharkhand Police has not been able to catch him. In the last four years Jharkhand Police had five encounters with PLFI rebels headed by Gope. But every time he escaped. He is wanted in over two dozen naxal cases.
