The BJP parliamentarian from State are excited to undertake padayatra after Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked BJP MPs to go on a 150-km padayatra (foot march) in their respective constituencies between October 2 and 31, to mark the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The BJP MPs from State said that this is noble step designed by Modi jee as it will connect MPs with local population. BJP MP from Ranchi Sanjay Seth said, “This is noble step initiated by the Prime Minister. The padayatra will once again provide the opportunity to MPs to have better connect with people of their respective constituencies.”

Seth claimed that State BJP unit will design the entire progarmme of the padayatra, but they have come to know that on every day an MP has to cover minimum 15 Km, thus 150 km will be covered in 10 days.

Seth, the first timer MP from Ranchi who defeated Congress candidate Subodh Kant Sahay with the whopping margin of nearly 2.80 lakh votes said, “During the padayatra, the messages of Gandhiji and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel will be spread among the people.” As Gandhiji advocated on Swachhata, the respective MPs will urge the people to follow cleanliness and hygiene in their day-to-day activities.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been giving much importance on Swachhata. The Prime Minister in this connection on October 2, 2014 launched the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan or Swachh Bharat Mission a nation-wide campaign that aims to clean up the streets, roads, cities, towns and rural areas. Every year on the occasion of birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Prime Minister along with his council of ministers, MPs and members from social organizations participates in Swachh Bharat Mission by taking out cleanness drive in their respective areas.

Apart from giving emphasis on Swachhata, the MPs taking part in padayatra will also stress on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP)—the other path breaking plan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.  The Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) campaign was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 22, 2015 from Panipat in Haryana. The thrust area of BBBP was to address the declining child sex ratio (CSR) and related other issue of women empowerment.

BJP MP from Palamu VD Ram said, “We have to cover entire constituency in groups. Apart from creating awareness on Swachhata and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, we will also highlight the schemes of Modi jee which largely aims at solving people’s problem.”

“Providing gas connection to people, construction of toilets and houses, opening up Jan Dhan accounts which is for empowering people financially are some of the schemes which directly caters to needs of people. We will go to people with all these ideas,” said Ram the former DGP of State.

Ram also claimed that in groups he will cover entire constituency including the Left Wing Extremist (LWE) affected areas. As per PM’s direction these padayatras would focus on villages and reaching out to public. The padayatra will also provide an opportunity to reach out to public and seek their feedback on the government’s work and their expectations from them.
