State gets serious on terror links

PNS

With Jharkhand emerging as a hub for the sleeper cells and supply line for the terrorist organisations following the Sunday serial blasts in Patna, Jharkhand Police wants its own Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS).

The Government is also ready to give all the facilities to the police department and expected to get an anti-terrorist squad in the State very soon.

“We have already sent our proposal, on the pattern of Maharashtra, to the State Government for clearance,” Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar told reporters in Hazaribag. ATS is urgently required to liquidate the IM and other anti-national terrorist groups by taking quick action and contain activities of IM and other anti-national activities more effectively, he added.
