State BJP's eagle eye on working of Ministers

PNS

As the NDA Government completes one year in the office, State unit of BJP has been keeping a close eye on Ministers of the Government so that an assessment of their performance could be done at the ‘right time’. According to the highly placed sources in the State BJP, after proper evaluation of their performances at the party level, a feedback will be given to Chief Minister Raghubar Das and central leadership as well for further assessment so that good governance could be ensured to the people of this state.

“Yes, an evaluation is being done by the party so that an assessment could be done properly. Though, the party has no say in such matters, but it can definitely alert the CM if anyone of them is not performing well,” said a senior leader in the party requesting anonymity.

“Ultimately the party is accountable towards the people and not the ministers, and any slip could lead to heavy losses to the party as a whole,” he added.

Party insiders also asserted that the party has been keeping a close vigil on each and every activity of the ministers so that the government comes up to the expectations of the people of this state.

“It is but natural that the party gives time to time feed-back to the Chief Minister or the central leadership regarding the working of the ministers and on the basis of which a decision is taken at different levels,” said a senior party functionary. If party executive members are to be believed the state cabinet may also undergo some changes after the coming budget session of the Jharkhand Assembly, he added.

State BJP leaders are also the view that ministers must also fulfill the promises made to the people before going to the elections.

“State BJP wants that ministers, who are also BJP workers, must fulfill the commitments made to the people of this state … We only want that the ministers should make all efforts to implement the promises made in the Party’s manifesto before going to the elections,” said BJP state vice president Deepak Prakash. He, however, said that the party so far was satisfied with the working of the ministers in the state.

It is also being believed that 12th berth of the cabinet could also be filled up after this budget session. Six Ministers – Saryu Roy, Ramchandra Chandravanshi, Raj Paliwar, Neera Yadav, Randhir Kumar Singh and Amar Kumar Bauri –were inducted into the Cabinet on February 19, making 11 Ministers including the CM, leaving one vacancy.
