State BJP leaders miss space in national executive

PNS

State BJP leaders have once again failed to make an entry at BJP national executive- the highest decision making body of the party. BJP national president JP Nadda, on Thursday reconstituted the jumbo sized party national executive inducting senior leaders from across the country.  The 80 member national executive has representation from different states, but there are no leaders from Jharkhand. The 80-member national executive of BJP comprised party patriarchs LK Advani, MM Joshi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah among others.

None of the Jharkhand leaders finding a place in the national executive is also a setback for Jharkhand BJP, when there are four leaders from Bihar in the national executive.

Union Ministers Giriraj Singh and Nityanand Rai along with former union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and five times MLA Bhagirathi Devi are from Bihar in the national executive.

Also there are four leaders from Bihar who have been made national spokespersons, leaving no scope for state BJP leaders who defend the party's stand in the media. From Jharkhand former chief minister Raghubar Das who is also national vice president of the party has been inducted in party national executive as special invitees.

Former Chief Minister Arjun Munda has found a place in the national executive as special invitees, as Babulal Marandi who has found a place as party legislative party leader.

State BJP president Deepak Prakash has found a place in the national executive as special invitees. Union education minister (state) and Koderma MP Annapurna Devi has been inducted in BJP national executive as special invitees.

State BJP general secretary and party Rajya Sabha member Samir Oraon has been made as national president of ST morcha.

A state BJP leader requesting anonymity said, "It is very disappointing that none of the state leaders have found a place in the national executive. It is high time that state leaders should change their orientation so that they get noticed by national leadership."Apart from 80 leaders in national executive, the party release said that 50 special invitees and 179 permanent invitees, including chief ministers, deputy chief ministers, national spokespersons, presidents of national wings and state unit leadership are part of national executive.

The national executive list of BJP is not only surprising for State BJP leaders, but many prominent leaders at national level too have been dropped. Some of leaders who have been dropped include former union minister Maneka Gandhi and her son Varun Gandhi, Haryana Jat leader Chaudhary Virendra Singh, former union minister Mahesh Sharma, Vijay Goel, CP Thakur, current union minister Rao Inderjit Singh, Ashwani Choubey, Prahlad Singh Patel, Rajya Sabha member Subramanian Swamy among others.
