The Commissioner of North Chotanagpur division Surendra Singh Meena today took over the charge of office of the Vice Chancellor of Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribagh. The chancellor office has issued notification of his appointment yesterday 21st October.
SS Meena assumed the charge as Ex-Acting VC Dr. Nitin Madan Kulkarni was not at Hazaribagh. In the noon he reached VBU and at the main gate he was received by the officers and teachers of the university.
Registrar Dr SP Sinha, FA Srinath Sahay, Proctor Dr Chandreshwar Prasad, DSW Dr Manjula Sanga, CCDC Dr Parmanand Mahto, Examination Controller Dr. AM Siddique, Deputy Registrar Dr Vijay Kumar Singh, Assistant Registrar Dr Vijay Kumar Sinha and others presented floral bouquets to the new acting vice chancellor.
At about 1pm SS Meena took the charge and then sat with the officers of the university. After taking their introduction he enquired about the working pattern of the university and finally concluded that it needs some rectifications.
He stayed in his chamber for more than 2 hours. In the meantime HOD History Dr. PK Pradhan and some other teachers met him. A delegation of students led by NSUI’s Prakash Yadav also met their new VC and demanded to increase the fund for youth festival on which Meena gave positive response.
Before leaving the university premises Meena once again talked with the officers and assured them that due to his dual responsibility work will not hamper here. He had promised to give more time from next Monday onwards to the university.
